授業タイトル：法と倫理：「正しい判断」と「間違った判断」

私達の判断は、常に何かの基準によって評価されています。その評価の結果として、私達の判断は、「正しい判断」と「間違った判断」に区別されます。では、人工知能（ＡＩ）による判断の場合はどのように評価されるのでしょうか？この体験授業では、まず、自動運転車の人工知能に成り代わって判断を行ってもらいます。判断を行う際には、与えられた状況の中で最適な判断を行う必要があります。その判断は、簡単ではないかもしれません。その後、その人工知能が行った判断を評価し区別する基準について考えます。

Title: Law and Ethics: Criteria for distinguish between “Right Decision” and “Wrong Decision”

Our decisions are always evaluated by some criteria. As a result, these decisions are to be distinguished into “right decisions” and “wrong decisions”. Where decisions are made by artificial intelligence (AI), how are they evaluated? In this mock lesson, you will first be asked to take on the role of an artificial intelligence in a self-driving car and make decisions on its behalf. In making decisions, you need to make the best decision for the given situation. The decision may not be easy. After that, we will consider the criteria for evaluating and distinguishing the decisions made by that artificial intelligence.

授業タイトル：天気図から大気の流れを読み取ろう

テレビ等の天気予報で普段目にしている地上天気図を使って、大気の流れを読み取る演習を行います。鉛筆と消しゴムを持参して下さい。地球の自転が大気の流れに及ぼす影響を解説し、地球をめぐる地球規模の大気の流れを理解します。このような流れを理解することは、気象現象や気候の理解、地球環境問題にとって重要な基礎となります。

Title: Reading airflow from surface weather maps

A little exercise will be made for reading airflow from surface weather maps, which are commonly shown in daily weather forecasts. Please bring a pencil and an eraser. Since the atmospheric circulations are affected by the rotation of the Earth, this effect is explained in this mock lecture. Understanding this effect is necessary for the study of the atmospheric science as well as the oceanography.

授業タイトル：世界規模パンデミック期における国際協力

世界的なパンデミックとなった新型コロナウイルスの猛威により、国際協力の在り方にも大きな変化が見られました。コロナ禍のような地球規模の課題を解決するには、国境を越えた協力が不可欠であるにも関わらず、自国第一主義の台頭や命を救うために必要な医薬品等の不均等な分配など、SDGsの理念に逆行するような、緊急時における国際協力の難しさも露呈しました。本講義ではパンデミックがもたらした国際協力潮流の変化や新しい取組を学び、ポストコロナ期に期待される新しい途上国支援のありかたなどを検討します。

Title: International Cooperation in the Time of Global Crisis (COVID-19)

The global pandemic of COVID-19 had completely changed the international cooperation landscape. The most significant global crisis of our lifetime reminded us how difficult but important to help each other beyond borders. Yet we've also witnessed the rise of nationalism or uneven distribution of life-saving health commodities, while the SDGs call for equity and equality to leave no one behind. This lecture will look at the impact of the global pandemic on international cooperation mechanisms, as well as to learn emerging efforts to create more equitable global heatlh responses in the post-COVID era.
