Mr. Tamai introduced Ashinaga Foundation has been engaged in supporting orphaned students for more than 50 years, and he enthusiastically talked about his thoughts on supporting them to go to universities and AAI.

Governor Yuzaki commented on opening the new university, "In this unpredictable era, it is important to develop students’ ability to respond to the needs of a rapidly changing society, so that they can have their own "will" to seek solutions to them.

◆Ashinaga Foundation

Ashinaga supports orphaned students, as well as children with a parent suffering from a physical or mental disability that prevents them from working. Our support is divided into three main fields: enabling access to education, providing emotional support, and empowering our students. Ashinaga Uganda was Ashinaga’s first international office. These fields apply to all of our activities in Japan and Sub-Saharan Africa, including the Ashinaga Africa Initiative.

Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI)

Ashinaga Foundation established the Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) in 2014 with the aim of contributing to Sub-Saharan Africa’s long-term development by empowering a generation of future leaders. Our students receive an international university education, comprehensive support throughout their studies, and the means to return home and be agents of positive change.

The faculty members and staffs look forward to welcoming AAI students and also hope that they will play active roles in the world as alumni of “EUH and AAI”.

Both Ashinaga Foundation and EUH will widely release information on the students' studies and activities at EUH in future.
