Degree Project

The culmination of learning at university

The one-year-long degree project will be done in the third or fourth year. Students set their project theme freely and discover solutions.
Research for individual degree projects is performed through seminars. We invite stakeholders of the company, administrative body, or the like to 2 briefing sessions (mid-term and final) as external evaluators, getting feedback on research from perspectives including novelty and feasibility. Students incorporate that into a report and announce their results at a public presentation.

Three key points of the degree project

POINT 01 Student-Led Problem-Solving Projects

Students define their own themes and clarify issues through research and analysis. With guidance and support from faculty members, they develop solutions using practical, hands-on approaches.

POINT 02 Feedback through Collaboration with Companies and Public Institutions

At two reporting sessions—midterm and final—students receive professional feedback from external evaluators, including representatives from companies and public institutions. This process enhances the originality and feasibility of their research.

POINT 03 Sharing Outcomes with Society: Public Presentations

Research outcomes are compiled into a final report and presented at public presentations. Students showcase the culmination of their learning to stakeholders both within and beyond the University.
