Requirements for English Language Proficiency

Eikei University offers first-year students a six-month Intensive English Program in their first and second semesters, the aim being to acquire practical English skills at a level that will allow them to take classes in English. As a rule, the course is compulsory for all students who enroll in the spring as the category for enrollment by recommendation. All subjects (with a few exceptions) are offered in both English and Japanese. A minimum of 62 out of the 124 credits required for graduation must be taken in English. Therefore, English language proficiency is one of the requirements in the admission selection.
