We would like to provide an update regarding the unusual odor detected on campus on April 16, 2024, at approximately 5:10 p.m.

Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the source of the odor was the accidental discharge of a tear gas spray carried by a student for self-defense. We have also confirmed that there have been no health problems among the students, faculty and staff related to this incident.

We will be taking measures to prevent such incidents in the future, including raising awareness among our community to enhance safety on campus. We deeply apologize to all students, their families, and our neighbors for the concern this may have caused.
